Azzurri coach hangs up cleats

Jim Colaprico, head coach of the Holmdel Stallions NJX U-17B Azzurri, will hang up his cleats and retire from coaching in July after 12 years leading the team. Holding a “D” coaching license, Jim has been an exceptional coach, teacher, and mentor to the young men under his tutelage. The Azzurri have flourished since their arrival to the Holmdel Stallions Club, representing NJX honorably since its inception. Some of the Azzurri notable milestones and wins include the #6 ranking in NJ in 2009, Rider Cup Champions in 2010, FC Delco Champions and NSR East Coast Cup Champions in 2008, US Club Region B Super Group Champion in 2007, and Region B representative at the US Club Nationals in 2007. Jim’s teams have varsity captains and players from Holmdel, Colts Neck, Howell, CBA, RBC, SJV, Marlboro, Manalapan, Metuchen, Shore, and Red Bank. He has players in the Regional and State ODP pools, and many plan to play collegiate soccer. We congratulate Jim on his successes on the pitch, and thank him for his knowledge, dedication, and his selfless service over his coaching career. Jim is a true ambassador of the game.
